Networking
Miss Edna Kamaleki , LECRI Managing Director had an opportunity to interact with Miss Janeth Sosthness Mwenda who runs the Tv show on Tuwalinde Watoto Wetu. Miss Edna emphasized on parental care towards children.
She said the parental care is very important component on protecting a child against abuse and violence. Parents should be aware that Offering the parental care to a child is not a privilege, it is child rights and a law requirement
The training was organized by the Tanganyika Law Society under support of SAJCEA Project. The training involved different Pro Bono Advocates who provide Pro Bono services to juvenile. LECRI Consult Managing Director as an Advocate and Child Rights Consultant managed to attend the workshop to gain more skills and further networking with other Probono Advocates from Tanzania and Canada.
Both external facilitators and organizers of the workshop called upon the pro bono advocates to use more holistic approaches in provision of legal services to juvenile and victims, as the approach will enable the juvenile and victims to receive the quality service hence build the trust to service providers. The advocates were advised to collaborate with other partners include child rights professionals, social welfare officers, police and judiciaries authorities.
STRATEGIC PLAN – 2015 TO 2020
Edna Kamaleki (Advocate), founder and Managing Director of LECRI Consult, continued to represent her firm in other child righst network. She joined other members of TCRF to conceptualize and develop TCRF Strategic Plan-2015 to 2020
Advocate and Managing Director of LECRI Consult attended 16th SADC Lawyers Association Annual Conference and General Meeting taht took place at Nyerere International Convention Centre. She had an opportunity to interact and network with different legal professionals and practitioners as it appears in the photo.
She introduced LECRI Consult to the President of Tanganyika Law Society, President of SADCLA, and Chairman of Human Rights Commission and Good Governance.They also discussed the possibility of networking in carrying out LECRI Consult’s duties.
LECRI Director & Child Rights Consultant (Edna Kamaleki) consulted and participated in the drafting of Tanzania CSOs alternative report on African Charter. The workshop was focused on the Rights and Welfare of the Child. It was organized by Tanzania Child Rights Forum.
Madam Edna was leading a technical group focused on the Four General Child Rights Principles( Non Discrimination, The Best Interest of the Child, Child Participation, Survival and Development)
